    What is Adrenal Support?
Adrenal Support is a combination of standardized herbs and nutrients which are known for rejuvenating the adrenals.*

What are the benefits of Adrenal Support?
Adrenal Support is designed to promote healthy cortisol levels, hypothalamic and pituitary function (HPTA axis), and catecholamine production (dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine).*

    What is the recommended dose?
The recommended dose is 3 capsules per day, starting with one capsule daily and increasing gradually to 3, as tolerated.

When should I take Adrenal Support?
Adrenal Support can be taken in the morning.

Can Adrenal Support be taken with thyroid medications?
Adrenal Support should be taken at least 30 to 60 minutes away from thyroid medications.

Should I start taking 3 capsules all at once?
It is recommended to start with 1 capsule of Adrenal Support and gradually work your way up to 3 capsules, as tolerated.

Can I take Adrenal Support if I have sensitivities to nightshades?
Adrenal Support contains ashwagandha, which is a nightshade. As such, it may be contraindicated in the small percentage of individuals with allergic reactions to plants in the nightshade family (tomatoes, white potatoes, eggplant, bell peppers, cayenne pepper, etc.) Those who have a known sensitivity to nightshades should use caution and work with their practitioner to determine if Adrenal Support is appropriate for them.

Adrenal Support contains licorice root. Can I take it with high blood pressure?
I do not recommend taking this product if you have high blood pressure. Adrenal Support contains 20 mg of glycyrrhizin, and although this amount is typically not enough to affect one’s blood pressure, I recommend avoiding this ingredient as a general precaution.

How long should I take the Adrenal Support?
It is recommended to continue Adrenal Support for three months to two years, depending on the individual’s needs. It can also be used as needed, in times of increased stress.

What are the benefits of the adaptogens?
Adrenal Support includes several herbal adaptogens—compounds that help the body regulate the production of various hormones and neurotransmitters. Whether the need is for an increase or a decrease, they facilitate the normalizing of these levels. Rhodiola, ashwagandha, American ginseng, and eleuthero are adaptogens that have been used for centuries in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine to support healthy responses to stress. An additional ingredient, licorice, helps cortisol stay in the bloodstream longer, thereby lessening the demand on the adrenals to produce more of it.*

Not to be used by those sensitive to nightshades, as this product contains ashwagandha, which can be reactive for some people with nightshade sensitivities. Not to be used by those who are sensitive to licorice root extract, as licorice root extract may exacerbate water retention and high blood pressure. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients in this supplement.

DO NOT TAKE if taking the following medications: alkylating agents, amiodarone, antidiabetic drugs, antihypertensive drugs, anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs, antitumor antibiotics, benzodiazepines, blood thinners, cisplatin, CNS depressants, corticosteroids, cytochrome P450 1A2, 2B6 2C8, 2C9, 2C19, 3A4 substrates, digoxin, diuretics, escitalopram, estrogens, ethacrynic acid, fluphenazine, furosemide, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, immunosuppressants, indinavir, losartan, midazolam, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, niacin, organic anion-transporting polypeptide substrates, paclitaxel, pentobarbital, P-glycoprotein substrates, phenytoin, tetracycline antibiotics, thyroid hormone+. Adrenal Support may also interact with alcohol and aluminum.

+Note regarding thyroid hormone: This product is not recommended for those with hyperthyroidism, as ashwagandha has been found to increase thyroid hormones. As recommended with any lifestyle interventions, individuals with hypothyroidism and normal thyroid function should monitor their levels of thyroid hormones while taking this supplement, and test thyroid hormone levels every 30-90 days to see if a medication adjustment is needed.
